1.Visualize Your Blog At Its Best

Develop a clear mental picture of what your visitor statistics will look like, begin to feel the life you will be living from your blog’s income, anticipate the freedom you will have through living the internet lifestyle and experience the happiness and joy in the present knowing that your dream IS becoming a reality daily.
Envision the certainty that is your success daily and it will be drawn closer to you.

2.Set Daily or Weekly Targets

In addition to the huge goal of success, there are many smaller steps that you will need to take to get the ball rolling. Don’t simply set the goal and work vaguely towards it. If your ultimate goal is to earn $100K from your blog in 2010 then decide what you will need to do daily or weekly to make that goal a reality.
It is human nature to become tired and overwhelmed, especially when there are huge mountains to conquer ahead of us. Ten Commandments of Blog Typography

Here are some basic guidelines to remember as you consider your site’s typography:

1. Thou shalt not have long lines of content that make the reader work too hard to read. Lines should have a maximum of 15-20 words. Any more and the reader cannot scan it quickly. Fluid width sites often guilty of this, as the body content inevitably gets stretched out to ridiculous lengths depending on the screen resolution readers are using.

2. Thou shalt not squish the letters together using negative letter spacing. Spare use of this in large headings is passable, but in most cases, it makes the words difficult to read.

3. Thou also shalt not squish the lines together too closely. Give the lines room to breathe. This will help the readers’ eyes track the text better. Set the line height using a percentage, rather than pixels, as readers may have their font sizes increased in the browser settings. A line height of 140% is a good rule of thumb for body copy.

4. Thou shalt rarely style your fonts using the bold font weight. It rarely looks nice on the screen. Instead, increase the size of the font.

5. Thou shalt never use more than 3 fonts in a blog design, and should probably stick to just two. Try styling the fonts you’re using differently rather than using multiple fonts. For example, use Georgia in various ways, such as the font-variant: small-caps for headings and italics for the post meta data (category, date, author, etc.).

6. Thou shalt use colors that provide plenty of contrast on the screen and consider very carefully before putting light text on a dark background. The latter can be done effectively, but in general it is easier to read dark text on a light background.

7. Thou shalt only use fonts that are widely available across both Windows and Mac OS. This one is a no-brainer it would seem, but you’d be surprised how often it is broken.

8. Thou shalt allow plenty of space between items on the page. There should be at least a 50 pixel gap between the end of one post and the start of another, or a divider of some sort, so it is very clear where the next post begins.

9. Thou shalt not make the text teeny-weeny so that readers must strain to read it. This also seems like a no-brainer, but people persist in making their readers strain to read their tiny text.

10. Thou shalt never, never use Comic Sans font unless thou wouldst like to be labeled an idiot.

If you don’t constantly have ideas ready when you wake up in the morning, you spend time coming up with ideas that should have gone to writing and crafting the perfect post.
If you brainstorm in advance, you’ll find that your posts are much higher quality. They are better thought out, have much tighter writing and tend to wonder off course less. If you post every weekday and you take an hour now to come up with 15 good ideas, you’ll have three weeks of high-quality posts in your future.

2. Add a Feature

Though adding features to your blogs recklessly can get you in trouble, especially with your site’s speed and appearance, if you have been wanting to add Twitter interaction or a new widget, now is a great time.
Since WordPress and other blogging platforms make it so easy to add plugins, widgets and other elements, if you want to try out a new tool or service, you can do so with relative ease and safety. However, be sure to closely monitor how it affects your site and ensure that it does more good than harm.

3. Tweak/Add Static Pages

Though most people read blogs for the day-to-day content, most people become regular readers, at least in part, due to something available on the static pages of your site.
If you check your traffic stats, you’ll likely find that your static pages are among the most popular on your site but, since they aren’t being constantly written, they fall out of date.
Take a few moments to update or add to your static pages. Write a little bit about yourself, include a picture if you can to forge a more human connection and add pages that compliment your regular blog topics. It works great.

4. Run a Site Speed Test

How fast does your site load? What’s slowing it down the most? If you don’t know, run a site speed analysis and find out. Then all you have to do is eliminate whatever is slowing you down and you should notice a drastic difference in your site’s speed ,all without moving hosts or paying more money.
If you have files that are slowing you down but can’t remove them, consider hosting them on Amazon Cloudfront or Rackspace Cloud to greatly increase their download speed cheaply. Also, be sure to optimize images as needed to keep them from dragging your site down.
